Gumby is an American clay animation franchise, centered on a green clay humanoid character created and modeled by Art Clokey. The character has been the subject of two television series as well as a feature-length film and other media.
This beloved green claymation icon first appeared on The Howdy Doody Show in 1955 before starring in his own The Gumby Show two years later. One of the most hilarious Gumby memories is of Eddie Murphy’s portrayal of the “off screen” Gumby character, dressed in a recognisable green costume.
